Giving Tuesday

When thinking of the holiday season, what comes to mind? Do you think of Black Friday shopping, Christmas gifts, and delicious food?

While it is easy to get caught up in holiday consumerism, it is important to remember to give back and support your community. Giving Tuesday serves as a reminder of how we can all come together to give back in a variety of ways to better our Hamilton community.

This Giving Tuesday, your gift (donation) can be the difference between vulnerability and safety for at-risk children in our local community. Together, we’re raising funds to support inner city children, by providing a meal, warm mittens and a tuque to over 700 children.

Giving Tuesday is “the world’s largest generosity movement.” Taking place on the Tuesday following American Thanksgiving, Giving Tuesday was “created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good.” According to GivingTuesday.ca, “The idea caught on, and has grown around the world, inspiring hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.”

Your donations this Giving Tuesday can help fund fill tummies and warm hands and feet. A $25 donation will provide a hot meal, mittens and hat to 3 children. We are launching our annual Children’s Christmas Celebration Campaign early this year, to make sure all 700 children receive the mittens & hats before the cold winter.

Your support and donation on Giving Tuesday is greatly appreciated. To make you donation which you will receive a tax receipt for can be made at www.rotaryclubhamilton.ca
