Virginia, your little friends are wrong. They have been affected by the skepticism of a skeptical age. They do not believe except what they see. They think that nothing can be which is not comprehensible by their little minds. All minds, Virginia, whether they be men’s or children’s, are little
Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus. He exists as certainly as love and generosity and devotion exist, and you know that they abound and give to your life its highest beauty and joy. Alas! how dreary would be the world if there were no Santa Claus! It would be as dreary as if there were no Virginias. There would be no childlike faith then, no poetry, no romance to make tolerable this existence.
Virginia, we saw this magic of Santa Clause happen at the 22nd annual Rotary Children’s Christmas Celebration at Cathy Wever School yesterday. Not even COVID-19 could cancel this event! Thanks to the Rotarians and Friends who pivoted and found a safe way to deliver individual turkey dinners, a new book and gift to over 550 children.
Thank you to all who helped make this a special day! We couldn’t have done it without all the support, the virtual stocking donors, sponsors, volunteers and yes even a special visit from Santa Clause!
You filled tummies and put a smile on the faces of so many children this Christmas season. For one magical day over 550 children saw the generosity of our community!
A special wish for each of you, that life treats you kind, that all your dreams come trues, and that joy, happiness, peace and prosperity find you this holiday season and into the New Year! Stay safe and well!
