Upcoming Speaker: Cathy Haan – Feeding Futures Through Food4Kids Hamilton

📅 Rotary @ Noon – Thursday, June 12, 2025
📍 McMaster Innovation Park

We are delighted to welcome Cathy Haan, Executive Director of Food4Kids Hamilton, as our guest speaker at Rotary @ Noon on Thursday, June 12, 2025. Cathy will be presenting on the vital work of Food4Kids and its flagship initiative, Weekends Without Hunger.

Food insecurity is a pressing issue that affects thousands of children in our community—particularly over the weekends, when school meal programs are unavailable. Through Weekends Without Hunger, Food4Kids Hamilton delivers nutritious food packages to over 1,700 students across 87 schools every Friday, ensuring they have healthy meals for both Saturday and Sunday.

Cathy brings passion, leadership, and a deep understanding of community needs to her role. Since stepping into the Executive Director position, she has overseen the expansion of the program to 18 additional schools and now works alongside a lean team of three and more than 50 dedicated volunteers each week.

Her presentation will provide insight into how this grassroots initiative continues to grow and meet increasing demands. She will share the logistics of weekly food distribution, the real-life impact on families, and how partnerships—like those with Rotary—can support and sustain this meaningful work.

This is a must-attend event for members and community guests who are passionate about child welfare, food security, and making a tangible difference at the local level.
