’Twas the night before Christmas, and throughout Hamilton’s streets,
Rotarians were stirring, wrapping gifts, prepping treats.
The stockings were ready, the lists all checked twice,
For over 650 children, a warm meal would suffice.
The volunteers gathered with purpose and care,
Knowing Christmas magic soon would fill the air.
With Virtual Stockings purchased and donations in tow,
The Sunshine Fund growing, the children’s joy set to glow.
From Cathy Wever School to neighbourhood blocks,
We prepared for the celebration—food, gifts, and socks.
The trees twinkled brightly at Gore Park that night,
The Christmas Tree of Hope glowing festive and bright.
Operation Santa Claus trucks rolled through the snow,
Delivering good cheer to where love needed to go.
Over 10,000 toys collected—a stunning display,
Ensuring no child felt forgotten on Christmas Day.
With mittens and toques, every child kept warm,
Each shared in the wonder, protected from storm.
The Rotary family—in service each year—
Spreading goodwill and compassion, replacing fear.
Then voices rang out, “To service above self!”
A mission more precious than riches or wealth.
From literacy programs to after-school fun,
Rotary’s work is never quite done.
As the clock struck midnight and snowflakes danced light,
Hamilton slept softly under blankets of white.
But Rotarians smiled, knowing hearts had been fed—
With meals, gifts, and stories as children went to bed.
And Santa proclaimed, as he soared through the sky,
“Rotary’s spirit lifts Hamilton high!
To all who gave time, donations, or cheer—
Merry Christmas to all, and a service-filled year!”
