Sunshine Fund Members Appeal — February Giving Month

Rotary Club of Hamilton has been serving our community since 1913. For more than a century, our members have believed in one simple idea: small acts, done together, can create big and lasting impact.

This February, we are inviting our members, friends, and supporters to help us raise $5,000 through our Sunshine Fund Members Appeal. Our goal is simple but powerful, 100% participation and 100% community impact.

What Is the Sunshine Fund?

The Sunshine Fund is the heart of our charitable giving. Every dollar donated goes directly back into local and international projects that support children, youth, and families.

There are no tickets to sell.
No events to volunteer at.
Just a simple act of generosity that creates real change.

Over 10,000 children and youth benefit each year from Sunshine Fund-supported programs.

How Your Donation Makes a Difference

Your support, whether monthly or one-time, helps fund meaningful, hands-on programs such as:

  • $10/month provides nutritious snacks for children in local schools
  • $20/month supports after-school programs
  • $25/month supports Junior Achievement programs for students
  • $50/month helps send a child to a Summer Literacy Camp
  • $100 one-time gift supports international projects like the Liberian Learning Centre

Small amounts add up quickly when we all take part.

Projects Your Donation Supports

Sunshine Fund donations help power initiatives including:

  • COREKids — free after-school programming in the Landsdale and Gibson neighbourhoods
  • Rotary Summer Literacy Program — barrier-free, camp-style literacy learning
  • A Book for Every Child — putting thousands of books directly into young hands
  • Junior Achievement & World of Choices Career Day
  • Rotary Children’s Christmas Celebration — supporting over 700 local children
  • Food security and poverty reduction initiatives
  • International service projects, including the Liberian Learning Centre

Small Acts… Big Impacts

Over the years, Sunshine Fund support has helped us:

  • Donate $1,500 to Jamaica after a Category 5 hurricane
  • Deliver $6,000+ in PPE to frontline workers during the pandemic
  • Support the Rotary Van for Gore Park Outreach
  • Provide food, literacy, and enrichment programs for inner-city children
  • Contribute to global efforts to End Polio

Each of these began with simple generosity.

February Is Our Moment

Throughout February, we are encouraging 100% member participation in support of the Sunshine Fund. When everyone gives what they can, the impact is extraordinary.

Your donation stays close to home, while also extending help across borders.
Small acts. Big impacts. Right here in our own backyard.

Thank you for supporting the Sunshine Fund and helping us continue over a century of service.

Make your Sunshine Fund donation today.
