One December 15 you helped make magic happen for over 760 inner city children at Cathy Wever School. THANK YOU!

It was a sensational day! The spirit of the festive season was alive and well. Volunteers & Rotarians made sure that every child had a full tummy and a smile on their face.

If you ever wonder, why Rotarians do what they do all year long just visit this event. The fundraising events and planning take place all year long to know that these children will experience a magical day…well worth all the effort!

The annual Children’s Christmas Celebration was a huge success. We could not do such a magical event without the help and efforts of our many friends, donors and sponsors! There are so many thank-yous to be done because to put together an event this size, feeding, wrapping, packing for 760 children would not happen without your help!

Thank you to all the Rotarians who hold special events like our golf tournament and the Sunshine Fund appeal. The time you put into organizing and planning and of course your efforts on the day of the event are appreciated by so many. These efforts make this event possible. Thank you for being a Rotarian.

To the many friends of Rotary, family members, co-workers and clients of Rotarians who helped at the event, served food, cut up turkey for the little children and who supported the event by donating to the Virtual Stockings THANK YOU. You helped make Christmas special. A special thank you to those who sponsored a class this year! We had a record year of raising funds through our virtual stockings. Your time and support is appreciated.

We couldn’t do this event without our sponsors. A huge thank you to NHL player Ryan Ellis and is foundation Elly4Kids. Your sponsorship of the goodie bags made sure each child received a special treat for Christmas. Our partners at Hamilton Public Library and First Book Canada made sure every child had a book. We also want to thank our friends from ProQuip who supported the chocolate milk for each child, Phil Winer who sponsored the Potatoes, John Clinton who donates the ice cream, GT French for all the paper goods and FPM3 who looks after all our marketing, website and virtual stockings software! Thank you for all your support!

The entertainment for the event is important and we wanted to thank Rob Blunsdon from the Summer Literacy Program and the girls from Broadway Bound Dance Studio for singing and dancing. They even did a fundraiser to buy virtual stockings! It is so great to have you as part of this magical day. The draw for 25 computers is a huge hit and we need to thank GreenByte for the donation of computers.

The food was cooked and delivered by our friends at Mission Services, a great community partner. Thank you for all your efforts in cooking a delicious turkey dinner for 760 children plus all the volunteers. We also need to thank a great team of volunteers from Hamilton Fire Service who have been coming out for the past 10 plus years to help with this event. The Firefighters do a great job helping with set up of tables and chairs, clean-up and take down. Thank you for the team effort!

As you can see it takes many people to make this magical event happen, but it is so worth the effort, to see the smiles and laughter…this is the Christmas Spirit! Santa would approve and has indicated that each and everyone of you who helped make this possible are on the good list!

Thank you does not seem enough! We hope that you have a great holiday season and a safe and happy New Year! Merry Christmas!
