For more than 25 years, the Rotary Summer Literacy Program has been a cornerstone of the Rotary Club of Hamilton’s commitment to supporting children and education in our community.
Great news — the Rotary Summer Literacy Program is BACK for 2026! We’re excited to once again offer this FREE, fun-filled summer learning experience for students entering Kindergarten to Grade 5.
Our program will run July 20–24 and July 27–31, 2026 at Lincoln Alexander School, with free transportation available for lower city children. The bus will depart Cathy Wever School daily. Children will build their literacy skills while enjoying daily camp-style activities in Sports & Games, Music, and Dance.

The Rotary Summer Literacy Program is returning in 2026, and we are preparing for another inspiring season that brings children together to read, learn, explore, and grow.
Each summer, nearly 200 students per day take part in two unforgettable weeks filled with stories, music, movement, creativity, and friendship — all in a safe, welcoming environment designed to build confidence and spark a lifelong love of learning.
Now in its 28th year, this program continues to make a meaningful difference for children across Hamilton. Through reading, writing, and hands-on creative activities, young minds stay active, engaged, and excited about school success.
