Rotary Summer Literacy program 2020

Major Announcement!

The Rotary Club of Hamilton is pleased to be able to offer the Rotary Summer Literacy Program this year! This is our 20th Anniversary year, and we have had to make many changes and alterations to deal with the COVID 19 Pandemic.

Special thanks to our RSL Camp Director Rob Blunsdon who has worked very hard on the program delivery model.

The Rotary Summer Literacy Program in the Park! Will take place August 17th – 28th 2020. It will operate for two weeks outdoors. We will be selecting a park location on the Mountain and one in the lower City. The program will have limited numbers of participants and will have 90 minutes in person sessions of active programing each day. Camp at Home kits will be part of the experience as well. The safety of participant and staff are important and we have put in place many protocols.

We are still finalizing the details and will pivot as necessary, but we are so pleased to be able to offer the Rotary Summer Literacy Program this summer. We know that the program makes a difference, and we know that the kid’s literacy skills will need to be tuned up before school starts in September. The in person 90 minute daily sessions, take home activities as well as a small online component, will assure that the Rotary Summer Literacy is full of learning & FUN!

Rotarians and Rotary Friends will be meeting and greeting participants and families each day of program. Special Thanks to our ICYIC Committee Members for their help in organizing our 20th Anniversary edition!

Special Thank You to everyone who supports our Rotary Fundraisers – we would not be able to offer this program without the extra funding! The additional costs of PPE and operating will be covered by our Lunch for a Cause Fundraiser and a huge donation!
