Community impact does not always happen quietly. Sometimes, it happens under bright lights, on a stage, surrounded by music, applause, and shared purpose.
Recently, I had the privilege of joining Corus Radio and Y108 on stage to accept a $9,000 contribution to the Rotary Children’s Fund on behalf of the Rotary Club of Hamilton. This was not just a cheque presentation. It was a reflection of what happens when a community shows up with intention.
What makes this donation particularly special is its source. The funds were generated directly through ticket sales, meaning that every person in attendance played a role in supporting children and youth in our city. It is a powerful reminder that philanthropy does not always require grand gestures. Sometimes, it is simply choosing to be present.
For over a century, the Rotary Club of Hamilton has worked to support children, families, and community initiatives that create lasting change. Partnerships like this one with Corus Radio and Y108 amplify that mission. They bring together businesses, media, artists, and residents around a shared belief that Hamilton is stronger when we invest in its youngest members.
Standing on that stage, I felt immense gratitude. Gratitude for partners who lead with heart, for a community that understands the value of giving back, and for the volunteers and Rotarians who work year-round to ensure these funds are used where they matter most.
On behalf of the Rotary Club of Hamilton, thank you to Corus Radio, Y108, and everyone who purchased a ticket and made this moment possible. This $9,000 is more than a number. It represents opportunity, care, and hope for children across our community.
