The Rotary Summer Literacy Program needs your help!
For 19 years we have offered for completely free the Rotary Summer Literacy Program. Over 10,000 children and their families have been engaged, educated and excited by our Literacy Program. Due to Provincial Funding cuts we have had to find new sources of funding to keep the Rotary Summer Literacy Program running for 2019.
RBC has provided us an outstanding opportunity to earn the funding we need for 2019!
We need your help. If you have attended the program before you know that we pride ourselves on asking families for absolutely nothing to attend this program. For 19 years we have operated like this and we have finally hit a point where we need to think outside the box to fund the program.
If every family could give just one member for 4 hours the week of June 3rd to June 9th, 2019 our funding issues will be resolved.
ROTARY SUMMER LITERACY AT THE CANADIAN OPEN
Help the Rotary Summer Literacy Program June 3rd to 9th, 2019 at the beautiful Ancaster Golf and Country Club. RBC has invited us to run an environmental initiative at the Canadian Open. We are responsible for recycling and ensuring the clear bags of recyclable material are transported to the proper recycle stations.
In other words – Every morning we set up recycle stations, patrol them throughout the open and replace bags when they get filled. When the Open finishes each night we pack up the stations and prepare for the next day.
We will have foot and golf cart patrols, walkie talkies, and gloves are provided.
I will be personally driving the pickup and drop off shuttle, supervising set up and take down every morning and night. I will also be on site during most shifts.
Volunteers Get:
1). A Free, limited edition Volunteer Shirt
2) Transportation to and from the event (if required)
3) Free water and Gatorade
4) We have our own tent to hang out in!
5) The best views of the Canadian Open – Yes we can watch Golf!
RBC will be making a generous donation to the program as a thank you for our hard work.

We require 4- 4 hours shifts from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm June 3rd – June 9th, 2019. Everything is outlined in the form.
