Rotary Club of Hamilton is the original Rotary club since 1913.

The Christopher Cutler Memorial Little Library at Cathy Wever School is a true partnership — between the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board, the Rotary Club of Hamilton, and the wider community that keeps those shelves stocked and the spirit alive.

Our Rotary volunteers check in regularly, refill the books, and ensure this resource remains a vibrant part of school life for the hundreds of students who pass by it every single day.

Service above self isn't just a motto. It's the Tuesday-morning-before-school visit to make sure there's something good waiting for a kid who needs it.

On September 26th, the Rotary Club of Hamilton officially dedicated the Christopher Cutler Memorial Little Library at Cathy Wever School. Chris was a past president of our club, a fierce advocate for community, and a Rotarian in the truest sense of the word — someone who showed up, rolled up his sleeves, and made things better.

This library is not just a structure. It is a living tribute. Every book borrowed, every story read, every child who reaches in and pulls out something new — that is Chris's legacy continuing to unfold.

We are honoured to carry his name forward through literacy, community, and service above self.

Small box. Big impact. 💙 This is the Christopher Small box. Big impact. 💙

This is the Christopher Cutler Memorial Little Library — installed by the Rotary Club of Hamilton at Cathy Wever School on Wentworth Street North. It holds a few dozen books at any given time, but the impact it creates in this neighbourhood extends far beyond what fits on those shelves.

In a community where not every family has easy access to books, this little library fills a gap that matters enormously. Inspired by the life and legacy of Rotarian Chris Cutler, it stands as a daily invitation to every child, parent, and passerby: literacy belongs to everyone.

Artificial intelligence can search. It can generate. But it cannot replace the wonder of a child lost in a story they chose all on their own.

No app. No screen. No login required. Just a little girl, a little library, and a world of stories waiting to be discovered.

The Christopher Cutler Memorial Little Library at Cathy Wever School serves students from Kindergarten through Grade 8 — a critical window in a child's development when the love of reading can be sparked, nurtured, and ignited for life.

The Rotary Club of Hamilton is proud to support literacy in our community, because we know that a child who reads today is a leader, a thinker, and a problem-solver tomorrow.

Take a book. Leave a book. Pass it on.

The Christopher Cutler Memorial Little Library at Cathy Wever School officially opened its doors thanks to the generous hearts of community champions like these. Educators, Rotarians, parents, and neighbours — all united behind one simple idea: every child deserves access to a great book.

Chris Cutler believed deeply in this community and in the power of young minds. Naming this library in his honour is our way of keeping his spirit of service alive — one book at a time.

If you have gently loved books gathering dust on your shelves, consider donating them. Drop them off. Stock the library. Be part of the story.

The Christopher Cutler Memorial Little Library at Cathy Wever School was built on exactly this kind of moment. Community leaders working side by side with the next generation, opening doors — quite literally — to learning, imagination, and growth.

At the Rotary Club of Hamilton (chartered 1913), we believe literacy is not a luxury. It is a foundation. And in an age of algorithms, artificial intelligence, and endless digital distraction, we are proud to offer something refreshingly analogue: a shelf full of books and an open invitation to every child to help themselves.

Take a book. Leave a book. Repeat forever.

In a world where a child's screen time can far outpace their story time, the Christopher Cutler Memorial Little Library stands as a gentle, powerful reminder: sometimes the greatest adventure begins when you open a book.

Named in honour of beloved Rotarian and past president Chris Cutler, this Little Free Library at Cathy Wever School (Kindergarten to Grade 8) is more than a blue box on a post — it is a promise to every child who walks past it. A promise that their story matters. That reading matters. That this community believes in them.

Take a book. Leave a book. Change a life.

The Rotary Club of Hamilton is part of a global movement that’s nearly wiped out polio—one vaccine, one child, and one act of compassion at a time.

We’ve reached remote villages, partnered with the World Health Organization, and helped immunize over 2.5 billion children. That’s billion—with a “B”! Every single dose moves us closer to a world where no child suffers from this preventable disease.

It’s not just about ending polio. It’s about proving that when humanity works together, even the impossible becomes possible. 💪
