A new Rotary year is here, and with it comes new leadership for the Rotary Club of Hamilton.
On July 1, 2026, Stewart Wynne officially became our President, taking the helm of one of Canada’s oldest Rotary clubs as we move into our 113th year of service.
First, a thank you. To our outgoing President, Adam Oldfield, thank you for a year of dedication, steady leadership, and service above self. The bar is set high, and the club is stronger for it.
A bit of history. The Rotary Club of Hamilton held its first meeting in 1913. We were the third Rotary club chartered in Canada and the 82nd in the world. For more than a century, this club has shown up for Hamilton, and that is exactly what we intend to keep doing.
Meet Stewart. A Client Executive at BFL Canada and a proud Hamilton name — Stewart is the grandson of the legendary Ivor Wynne, whose legacy is woven into the very fabric of this city. He brings real energy and a clear sense of purpose to the role, along with a genuine belief in what this club can do for our community.
In his words: “I am honoured to lead a club with this much history and heart. My focus this year is simple. Grow our impact, grow our membership, and make sure Hamilton knows Rotary is here for them.”
So what does the year ahead look like? Progress, built on a strong foundation.
You will see the programs you know and love continue. Operation Santa Claus carries on. World of Choices keeps helping students picture their futures. Our weekly Thursday meetings stay the warm, welcoming, hybrid gatherings they have always been. And our commitment to Hamilton’s children and youth stays front and centre.
You will also see us push forward. More visibility in the community. A bigger, more connected membership. Smarter, more modern ways of getting our message out. The goal is a club that honours its history while building boldly for the future.
