There are moments when a room feels different.
More energy. More heart. More purpose.
One of those moments happened recently at a Rotary Club of Hamilton meeting, when we had the privilege of welcoming local children’s organizations and presenting over $35,000 in funding to support children right here in our community.
This wasn’t just a cheque presentation.
It was the result of a year of hard work, generosity, partnership, and a shared belief that when a community comes together, kids benefit.
From Fundraising to Real Impact
Over the past year, the Rotary Club of Hamilton has proudly served as the steward of the Rotary Children’s Fund, in partnership with Corus Entertainment, Energy 95.3, and Y108.
Through a wide range of fundraising initiatives, including golf tournaments, bingo nights, Catch the Ace, the Christmas Tree of Hope, and Operation Santa Claus, our members and supporters raised funds with one clear goal: to give every dollar back to the children who need it most.
And that’s exactly what we did.
Every organization honoured at this meeting represents vital, on-the-ground support for children across Hamilton. Even more importantly, 100 percent of the funds raised go directly back into the community, with no administrative costs taken out. That promise matters to us.
Stepping Up When It Mattered Most
In 2024, the Rotary Club of Hamilton took on an important responsibility.
Following the closure of 900 CHML, its charitable arm was suddenly gone, leaving a significant gap in community support for children. When we were approached to ensure those funds and that mission wouldn’t disappear, the answer was simple: yes.
Because letting children “fall through the cracks” has never been an option.
A Legacy of Service Since 1913
The Rotary Club of Hamilton has been serving this city since 1913. For more than a century, our focus has been on service, locally and internationally, with a strong emphasis on children’s programs, literacy, and community well-being.
As Rotary Club of Hamilton President Adam Oldfield shared during the meeting:
“It’s with great pride that I get to be part of an organization like this, not as an individual, but as a group of people coming together with a shared purpose. Moments like this remind us why Rotary has continued to serve Hamilton for over a century.”
That pride belongs to every member, volunteer, sponsor, and supporter who believes in doing good, quietly and consistently.
Be Part of Something Bigger
This day was about giving back, but it’s also about looking forward.
If you’ve ever thought about getting involved in your community, meeting like-minded people, and being part of something that creates real impact, we’d love to talk to you.
Rotary isn’t just meetings.
It’s action.
It’s accountability.
It’s heart.
And sometimes, it’s the joy of handing a cheque to someone who can change a child’s life.
