Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus. He exists as certainly as love and generosity and devotion exist, and you know that they abound and give to your life its highest beauty and joy. Alas! how dreary would be the world if there were no Santa Claus! It would be as dreary as if there were no Virginias. There would be no childlike faith then, no poetry, no romance to make tolerable this existence.
We saw this magic of Santa Clause happen at the annual Rotary Children’s Christmas Celebration at Cathy Wever School today. Not even COVID-19 could cancel this event! Our Rotarians, Friends of Rotary and many community partners made this a special day as we filled the tummies and put smiles on the faces of over 600 children.
Thanks to the Rotarians and Friends who pivoted and found a safe way to deliver individual turkey dinners and a new book to over 600 children. We will be planning a special event in February to wrap and pack the classroom gifts and deliver them to the kids as a winter surprise!
