Volunteers needed to make magic happen!

Our largest hands on service project takes place next week. We need Rotarians and Friends to help make the magic happen. We have a number of community partners and friends attending, but we need Rotarians and their friends! Everything takes place at Cathy Wever School (160 Wentworth St N) and there is lots of parking!

We have two opportunities to volunteer:

Wednesday December 11th 5:00pm -7:30pm

This is the wrapping and packing event. We have to pack the classroom packages and wrap the books for all the children.  This is a great opportunity to bring young people to and make it a family event. As it is over the dinner time, we will be ordering pizza. We need about 10 volunteers to help out.

Thursday December 12th – This is the big day!

This is the day we need the most volunteers. If you can help out for an hour or two anything will help. This is a great opportunity to invite your family and friends to volunteer or invite a potential new Rotarian to experience Rotary in action!

Set-Up Volunteers 8:15am-10:00am: We need a few volunteers to help set up tables, chairs and then set the tables with utensils and napkins.

Food Service Volunteers 10:30am -1:30pm: This is the bulk of volunteers and work. We need volunteers to help serve the food, assist the children with their plates and manage the tables. We need over 40 volunteers to make this operate smooth. (Volunteers can take ½ of this time shift is needed)

At the end of the event, we invite volunteers to enjoy some turkey and sides. We then take down the tables and stack the chairs and we are done. When volunteers arrive at the school, please report to the registration desk in the lobby to sign in and get your name tag.

This is our Rotary Club’s largest HANDS ON SERVICE Project. We hope that every Rotarian will help with this magical event. Make sure you reach out to friends and family as this is a wonderful event for everyone.

P.S. Have you gotten your virtual stocking. We are almost 50% towards our fundraising goal and we know that there are Rotarians and friends who are still reaching out to their contacts to raise more funds. www.rotaryclubhamilton.ca to make your donation!
