T’was the week before the Christmas Celebration for all 700 children, when all through the house
Many a creature was stirring, almost every Rotarian.
The stockings were purchased by caring people, ready to be hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St Nicholas soon would be there.
The children were nestled in their desks,
While visions of turkey, potatoes and gravy danced in their heads.
And mamma in her ‘kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled our brains for a long winter’s nap……WAIT
There is no time for napping! There is still so much to still to do!
On Tuesday Dec 13th, Rotary Elves are needed to help package the gift baskets at 5pm at Cathy Wever School. Each classroom will get a basket filled with treats for the entire class including a new book for each child
Donations needed…have you purchased your virtual stocking yet? A $20 donation helps cover the costs of 3 meals for the children. You get a tax receipt, why not get a few stockings in the names of others as a gift for Christmas. Visit our website at www.rotaryclubhamilton.ca to make your donation!
This Thursday is one of the most magical Rotary meetings of the year. Our largest service project! Food and gifts for over 740 children. We need Rotarians to help serve and be classroom elves. Why not bring a friend or a potential new member! A great example of what we do in Rotary to help make the world better.
T’was the week before the big event…and this email is a request for Rotarians and friends to help make the magic happen.
The Rotary Children’s Christmas Celebration is a signature event of our Rotary Club. A great example of a hands-on service project that makes a difference in the lives of inner city children! Let’s make magic happen for over 740 children on December 15th 2016!
But I heard him exclaim, ‘ere he drove out of sight,
“Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!”
