THANK-You – Volunteer Week Salutes you!

This week we celebrate volunteers, an opportunity to recognize the efforts of volunteers across Canada. We could not be an active and engaged Rotary Club without volunteers.

Service Above Self, the Rotary motto is alive in our Rotary Club. Rotary Club Members volunteer on so many levels, park clean-ups, food drives, committees that support literacy and raise funds for important projects to stepping up and volunteering on a committee or Board of Directors.

During Volunteer Week we salute each and every Rotarian in our Rotary Club. You are outstanding volunteers, from our hands-on service projects such as the Rotarian of the Day at Summer Literacy Program to setting up and organizing the annual Fall Golf Classic to serving food to children at the Children’s’ Christmas Celebration.

Rotarians live volunteerism! Thank you! We also need to recognize the friends and family members of Rotary, when we have a call for additional volunteer help, the family and friends of Rotary step up from filling the little library box with books and food to wrapping books and gifts for 700 children at Cathy Wever School.

Volunteers are the roots of strong communities. Just like roots are essential for trees to bloom, volunteers are essential for communities to boom. Thanks to volunteers, our communities grow strong and resilient. Even the tiniest volunteer effort leaves a profound and lasting trace in a community, much like tree rings that appear over time.

Thank you for being a VOLUNTEER!
