As the festive season wraps up, we are filled with immense gratitude towards the Hamilton community and the incredible volunteers who played a pivotal role in bringing over 600 smiles to the children at Cathy Wever School. This year marked a special milestone, as the Rotary Club of Hamilton proudly hosted its 25th Rotary Children’s Christmas Celebration, a tradition of giving and joy that has become a cornerstone of our community and a signature event of our Rotary Club!
Our heartfelt thanks extend to the Hamilton Public Library, Hamilton Community Foundation, – McCallum McBride Fund, Ancaster High School, and the CHML and Y108 Children’s Fund. Your support and contributions have been instrumental in making this event a resounding success. We also want to thank our many Virtual Stocking Donors, the Elf & Snowman Sponsors. We couldn’t have done it without your help and support!
The day was nothing short of magical. Laughter echoed through the halls, and music and entertainment filled the air, creating a truly festive atmosphere. The performers from Broadway Bound Studios did a wonderful jog singing & dancing. It was a day to remember for both the young and the young at heart.
A special moment was when Santa himself made an appearance, bringing an abundance of joy and laughter to the children. His presence was a reminder of the wonder and excitement that defines this time of year.
We are proud to share that through the generosity of our donors, we were able to provide each child with a meal, mittens, a toque, and a book. These gifts, though simple, were tokens of warmth and care for our young ones.
Our volunteers deserve a special mention. They were the unsung heroes of the day. We also want to recognize our Rotarians and all the community volunteers who help pack & wrap all the gifts, set up, tear down and serve the food, all making it a very magical day for the children. Thanks to all who helped make the magic happen….filling tummies, warming heads & hats and spreading the Christmas Spirit!
As we look forward to next year, we are excited to continue this tradition. It’s more than just an event; it’s a testament to the strength and compassion of our community. It’s about bringing joy right to our backyard, to those who need it most.
