On February 23rd, we mark 116 years since the founding of Rotary. It’s incredible to think about how much has changed since the first Rotary club met in Chicago, with Paul Harris as a founding member
Rotary started with the vision of one man — Paul Harris. The Chicago attorney formed the Rotary Club of Chicago on 23 February 1905, so professionals with diverse backgrounds could exchange ideas and form meaningful, lifelong friendships.
Over time, Rotary’s reach and vision gradually extended to humanitarian service. Members have a long track record of addressing challenges in their communities and around the world.
Whatever Rotary may mean to us, to the world it will be known by the results it achieves. With every project, we’re changing the world for the better
We will never know how different the world would have been without Rotary, but I do know that the world is a far better place with Rotary and that Rotary itself is stronger because of everyone of you. Thanks, you for being a part of Rotary serving humanity
I hope that you will take time not only to reflect on all that we have done in the past 116 years, but celebrate our recent accomplishments.
