On June 28, 2023, The Rotary Club of Hamilton is delighted to make an important announcement that celebrates the unwavering dedication and noteworthy contributions of two outstanding individuals to our club and the wider Rotary community.
It is with immense pride and joy that we reveal the recipients of this year’s Paul Harris award – our very own Rotarian, Adam Oldfield, and our external supporter, and cherished friend, Shelley Mousseau.
Adam Oldfield, the soon-to-be President Elect for the Rotary Club of Hamilton, is also our dedicated Director of Communication. His tireless commitment to our cause, combined with his exceptional ability to foster strong relationships and promote effective communication, has been pivotal in the growth and success of our club. He’s more than a leader; he is a mentor, a visionary, and a friend to us all. This recognition of his efforts as a Paul Harris Fellow is truly well-deserved.
In the same vein, we’re thrilled to honor Shelley Mousseau, a wonderful friend to our club, who has consistently shown an extraordinary commitment to our cause. While not a Rotarian herself, Shelley’s generosity has been unmatched – her consistent support through donations, her invaluable volunteering time, and her contributions to our Rotary events have made a significant difference.
Notably, Shelley’s fresh baked goods, particularly some of the most delicious cookies we’ve ever tasted, have become a staple at our gatherings. They not only nourish us but also serve as a reminder of the sweet and profound impact that every helping hand can have on a community. Her award as a Paul Harris Fellow is a testament to her unwavering support and significant contributions.
The Paul Harris Award, named after the founder of Rotary International, is one of the highest honors bestowed upon individuals who have demonstrated their commitment to the goals and purposes of the Rotary Club. It is a recognition of the ‘Service Above Self’ motto that we, as Rotarians, hold dear.
