Hamilton, ON – The Rotary Club of Hamilton is proud to announce that it will be taking over the stewardship of three beloved community initiatives: the CHML Children’s Fund, the Christmas Tree of Hope, and Operation Santa Claus. These programs, which have collectively raised more than $6 million since 1976 to support children and families in need, will continue to serve the Hamilton community under Rotary’s leadership. Since 1976, the CHML Children’s Fund and Christmas Tree of Hope have been vital sources of support for local charities, providing much-needed funds during the holiday season and beyond. Operation Santa Claus has furthered this mission by collecting toys and donations to ensure that every child in Hamilton experiences the joy of the holiday season.
President-elect Adam Oldfield of the Rotary Club of Hamilton, who has a long history with the CHML Christmas Tree of Hope, expressed his enthusiasm for this new chapter: “Many years ago, when I started in radio, I had the opportunity to work with the CHML Christmas Tree of Hope, including Blitz Day and raising funds throughout the winter. It was a great honour, and it will be once again an opportunity to step back into the shoes of raising awareness in our community and money for our local charities right here in our backyard.” The Rotary Club of Hamilton, founded in 1913, has a storied history of community service. By integrating these cherished initiatives into their portfolio, Rotary aims to continue and expand upon the legacy of generosity and support that has been built over nearly half a century.
President Laura Farr of the Rotary Club of Hamilton noted, “This is just another example of how the Rotary Club of Hamilton continues to give in our community, embodying our motto of ‘Service Above Self.’ As we develop and grow, we will be working with our media partners to raise awareness and encourage donations. We are committed to ensuring that the Rotary Children’s Fund, Christmas Tree of Hope, and Operation Santa Claus remain pillars of support for the children in our community.”
The Rotary Club is maintaining the beloved traditions like the Christmas Tree of Hope lighting ceremony in downtown Hamilton, as well as continuing fundraising efforts through Operation Santa Claus. The Rotary Club is working closely with media partners to ensure that the community remains informed and engaged, providing numerous opportunities to contribute to these vital causes.
